Stefan Le Roux posted a 64 net after carding a gross 74 to claim both the August Monthly Medal and the low round of the day. Adrian McLaren was the winner of the A division on net 72, with Buck Venter the runner up on net 73. A three-way count out on net 73 in the B division saw Neil Langley first and Morne Ebersohn second.

The KGC’s Nico Jacobs and Stiaan Hugo were first and second in the Saturday Diamond Sub Union Strokeplay Series held at the Kimberley Golf Club.  They returned a gross 71 and a gross 73 respectively. Hartswater’s AP Botes took the best net with Jouke van Bergen of Douglas the runner up. Both players returned a net 70. The KGC also took the lead in the interclub challenge that runs concurrently through the full series.

Parks Mashabao, alone on 19 points, won the Sun Flamingo Niner on Friday. A three-way count out on 17 points placed Allen Meyer second, Brian Daniels third and Deuce Leburu fourth. Kumar Anoop was fifth on 16 points. 

OJ Maimane, for the third time, secured a big six at the par four 13th hole for a total of 23 points and a convincing win in Thursday’s KWV PowerPlay Niner. Deuce Leburu, without the benefit of a PowerPlay boost, was the runner up on 21 points. Four players returned 20 points with Dave Wilson deemed third in the count out.
   
Gary Hepburn and Derek Pogieter combined well to produce 46 betterball points and a win in Wednesday’s betterball stableford competition. John O Connell and Mike Vigne were the runners up on 45 points, the former returning a net 64 after recording a personal best 88 gross. Tuesday’s Cleveland Golf sponsored Super Six Tournament saw a record 15 points (three short of a full house) scored by the winner – Francois Schwartz. Parks Mashaboa was the runner up on 14 points with Tinus Venter third on 13 points on a count out from Henry van Aarde. 

This week the KGC hosts the Cleveland Golf Super Six Tournament on Tuesday, the Leon’s IPS on Wednesday and the Spur Junior Challenge and KWV PowerPlay Niner on Thursday. On Friday it is the Sun Flamingo Niner followed by the CTCS draw which is valued at R1600. Saturday and Sunday sees the inaugural Northern Cape Senior Open  
played over two rounds. There is an IPS for the Members on Saturday. And, the NC Senior Society hosts the return Blacklaws match on Sunday morning.
